Robert C. Bennett

Robert C. Bennett Holt Age 82, died December 1, 2010; born April 29, 1928 in Holt, Michigan. He graduated from Eastern High School class of 1946 and attended MIT before entering the Armed Forces of the USA in 1951. Mr. Bennett was a Veteran with the U.S. Army in the Korean War and served with Far East Command Intelligence as an advisor to a Korea Photo Interpretation Unit. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 238 and Tri County Bicycle Association. He retired from Michigan Department of Public Health as a supervisor of mechanical laboratory after 35 years of service. Mr. Bennett also worked with International Industrial Ventilation Conference held at Michigan State University for 32 years as a contributor and instructor. He was preceded in death by his parents, C., Edward and Doris L. Bennett, and brother, Charles B. Bennett. Surviving are his beloved wife of 20½years, Rebecca L. Bennett; 5 children, Scott E. (Joanne) Bennett of West Branch, MI, Kathryn A. (James) Zeichman of Clinton, MI, Dianne (Jerry Glynn) Powers of Littleton, CO, Karen Powers of Eaton Rapids, MI and Trudy Powers of Fort Mills, SC; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. A special thanks for the TLC of the doctors, nurses and staff of Sparrow Hospital and Sparrow Hospice Services. Funeral services will be held at Holmes Road Church of Christ, 321 E. Holmes Road, Lansing on Tuesday, December 7, 1:00 p.m. with Minister Todd Greer of Mechanicsville, VA, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holmes Road Church of Christ, Shults Lewis Child and Family Services, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or American Cancer Society.
