Ruth Miriam Beegle

Ruth Miriam Beegle East Lansing Born April 29, 1925 to Amos and Mathilda Marin, Ruth Miriam Beegle died November 9, 2010 at the age of 85. She was the daughter of a Lutheran Minister who emigrated from Finland; the first language spoken in her home was Finnish. She was an extraordinarily bright and accomplished woman whom in the 1940's won a Congressional Scholarship to Michigan State where she earned her Master's degree and also graduated from the Sparrow Nursing program. In her later years in life, Ruth was active in her church bible study circle, her book club, and also her church. She lived and practiced her faith daily. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and partner for nearly 50 years, J. Allan in 2000, and her brother, Martin Marin. She is survived by her children, Margaret (Steven) Loubert, Katherine (Michael) Cerreta, Allan (Suzanne Yunker) Beegle, and Grace (Vern) Pierce; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, C. Rudolph Marin; sister Marianne Bubolz, sister-in-law, Luella Marin and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the University Lutheran Church, 1020 S. Harrision Rd, East Lansing. The family will receive friends Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing. An additional service will be held Monday, November 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with graveside services to follow at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery in Bedford, PA.
