Shane Platte Obituary

Shane William Platte Portland Age 24, passed away on June 4, 2010 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born on November 9, 1985 in St. Johns the son of Brian and Elizabeth (Schmitt) Platte. Shane was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and graduated from Portland High School in 2004. He enjoyed attending car shows, listening to music, being outdoors and all his pets. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Schmitt. Surviving are his mother, Liz Platte of Portland; father, Brian (Lisa) Platte of Swanton, OH; brothers, Brian (Jill Hodges) Platte of Portland, Kiel (Kayla Keeven) Platte of Pewamo and Evan Platte of Portland; sister, Ashley Guthridge of Pennsylvania; special friend, Kelli Petersen; grandparents, John Schmitt and Bill and Connie Platte all of Westphalia; many aunts, uncles and cousins. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Larry King, presiding. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m., Monday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to www.schraubenlehman.com.
