Shirley Leonard Obituary

Shirley L. Leonard Lansing Shirley was born on May 10, 1930, in Lansing; died September 7, 2009, at the age of 79. She was an avid knitter, loved the Detroit Tigers, WWE Wrestling, bowling, and collecting frogs. She was also a Michigan Wolverine fan. Shirley was a grandmother not only to her family, but to numerous children in the neighborhood. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 2007 and her sons, Paul, Jr. and Kenneth. She was survived by her daughters, Barbara Leonard, Diann Heppard, Suzann Leonard and Penny Simons; son, Terry Leonard; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Neil; sister-in-law, Agnes Peters; brother-in-law, Jim Dawson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Those desiring may make contributions to American Heart Association, Memorials and Tributes Lockbox, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674 in memory of Shirley L.
