Steven C. Strong

Steven C. Strong Charlotte Steven C. Strong passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 14, 1949, he was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Wanda J. Strong. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Nancy; daughter, Jennifer (Blake) Upright and granddaughters, Hannah, Lauren and Grace Upright; brother, Derek (Ann) Strong; brothers-in-law, Greg (Jean) Thompson and Brad Thompson; sisters-in-law, Kelly (Ken) Criscoe and Carol Baker; aunts, Velma and Edith Mae Benham; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Steve joined Oldsmobile after serving in the Army, and worked 30 years until his retirement in 2006. He was a proud member of UAW Local 652, serving in various elected and appointed positions. He loved the game of golf and enjoyed his many golf buddies. Steve was a good man who loved his family and friends very much. He was always willing to offer a helping hand. We cherish our memories of his warmth, generosity, and humor. We will miss him dearly. The family invites all who knew and loved Steve to a Visitation on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, Michigan. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested as follows: Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, Capital Area Humane Society, or the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
