A special thanks is extended to Sparrow Hospital, all of the hospice caregivers, and Susan's special friend Adele Arnold. Although Susan's journey has come to an end, her spirit lives on and will never be forgotten. This is not good-bye, Susan, but "see you later."

My association with Sue has only been during the last year or so through luncheons with retired employees from the Public Service Commission. There are few people I have known that has had such vibrant personalities and handled life with happiness, good times and always a positive attitude. I enjoyed being around her and looked forward to converse with her at the get togethers. I will miss those times with such a gracious, smart, happy person. Even though I have never met you, Phil, I feel I know you through loving Sue. My sincere sympathy at your loss and Sue will always be with you through the treasured memories. Fondly, JoAnne A. While Sue and Phil did not find each other until later in life, they definitely made up for lost time. To see them together was to witness a perfect fit and to see the best of what marriage has to offer. They were able to travel extensively right up to the last minute. Sue's courage allowed them to make the most of their time together, albeit way too short. While we will miss Sue terribly, our hearts go out to Phil for the huge hole this will leave in his life. We hope Sue is at peace now with Mom.

Love,
Rick and Jill

God has blessed her and you in many ways, some which you are still to come to know in the future. We will miss her and you will remain in our prayers. Love & Hugs, Dick and Carol

Dear Philip,
I always thought of Sue as a person with a special glow, a warmth and kindness that drew people to her. Her smile, laugh, and lively conversation were her hallmark. When we saw you two here in Holland in the summer, she looked very beautiful and happy to be going to your weekend in Grand Haven with friends. Your love and support meant everything to her and gave her strength in addition to her inner courage as she coped with her illness.
Our sympathy to you and your family, and her close friends.

Philip I am so sorry for your great loss. I have been a friend of Susan's for over 20 years and can truly say that it is my privilege to call Susan my friend. She truly made the world a better place for all that knew her. From beating us at Trivial Prusuit (she was the Queen of that game!!) to a lone hand at the Euchre table - her smile and laughter would light up the room. The two of you are in my prayers and thoughts. God Bless!

Phil, We are so sorry for your loss. We had the opportunity to meet you folks only once, but Sue left me with such a felling of friendship, and because of my special friends Adele and Tom, I was always kept updated on how she was doing. I feel like I too lost another girlfriend and feel the saddness. She is a beautiful angel now and will watch over you always. May God Bless you keep you in his care. Phil, I am a neighbor and friend of Adele's at Round Lake. Through the years She has spoken of you and Sue--how you found one another later in life and had such a wonderful marriage, your beautiful home and condo that Sue decorated, and your many fabulous trips. Then, when Sue found out about her cancer, we all grieved with Adele and sent Sue our silent prayers, Her courage and good humor was so admirable. Adele was certainly a true and loyal, loving friend and I know she will miss Sue but was honored to be able to help her right up to the end. Though we've never met, I wish you peace and comfort with lots of good memories.
