Dear Pamela,
I just learned this week of Terry's passing from Heather. I was lucky enough to have known your son for the last six years. I met him kayaking on Lake Lansing with my son in 2004. We had many outdoor adventures together around Michigan; kayaking, camping and running. I absolutely adored your son! He was a terrific person, full of love and generosity. I have so many wonderful memories of him...I will miss him dearly. Please accept my deepest sympathies during this time and I wanted you to know that Terry always spoke so highly of you.

Pam

Terry did work for us in our house like laying wood flooring, marble, woodwork, etc. He did such a fine job whenever he worked for us and it's hard to not have tears when I look at all he has done. He had a great open heart to animals. We are so sad to hear of this. He had a tremendous amount of empathy for people and had a very very kind heart. I can still hear conversations where we would ask him to do something out of the ordinary where carpentry was involved. He would say that nobody does this or that. We would say, "so what, let's try it." He would smile, roll up his sleeves, and jump right into the job with enthusiasm! He will be greatly missed.

Terry, we will all miss your adventurous spirit and the thoughtful ways you put others before yourself. Thank you for making us all better climbers, runners, bikers, kayakers, and adventure-lovers - whether it was through your constant words of genuine encouragement or simply living the adventure with us. You will be missed dearly.

Dear Pam,

I was so terribly sad to hear of you son's death. I remember him only as a small boy, but read what a wonderful man he turned out to become, so adventurous and talented. You were always very special to me and please know that I will remember him in my special prayers.

With much love and sadness,

Terry was a great friend. I always enjoyed the stories that he would bring back from his adventures. There were several times that I would make him write down the mountain he was climbing and the route he was going to take. He would laugh at me and then write it down. He had a great zest for life. He was one of the nicest men I knew. He will be missed. My heart goes out to his parents and his sister.
