Thomas McGrain Obituary

Thomas W. McGrain, Lt Col, USAF (Ret) Born August 13, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Thomas McGrain and Mabel Collingbourne McGrain. He died in the company of his family at Wuesthoff Hospital, Rockledge, Florida, on Thursday, April 2, 2009. Tom served in the United States Army Air Corps during WW2 as a B-24 navigator. He left the service to complete college at Michigan State University before returning to active duty. He was highly decorated and very well respected in all his military assignments. He retired in 1964 and moved to East Lansing, Michigan where he completed a civilian career in educational administration. He is survived by his wife Eleanore who he married on June 20, 1945 in Lansing, Michigan. Also, 2 sons, David (Joanne) McGrain of Saginaw, Michigan and Brian (Susan) McGrain of Erie, Pennsylvania and 5 grandchildren. Funeral Arrangements: Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home 5400 Village Drive, Viera, FL. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the charitable organization of your choosing.

Eleanore- Please accept our sincerest condolences. Tom was a true gentleman, and excellent father and always interesting conversationalist. His dear personality will always be remembered.
I also loved that Cadillac Catera that he was so proud of. Your know cousin that dear Alice and John and now Tom are smiling on all our family.
