Best friend, guide, consult, mentor, brother. There are so many other roles you played but as my Bubotz, your legacy and tales will carry on forever. I'm going to spend some time looking into the stars tonight, hoping I'll see you shine down upon me and Jen, our love and marriage has your fingerprints all over it, you counseled us, loved us and made us laugh...pretty much instantaneously and congruently. I will always remember how Tim would always go out of his way to make strangers and locals alike feel special. His sense of humor and easy-going way was an unusual combination of both funny and delightful. He helped me through many a difficult afternoon, and, although it had been a few years since I had seen him, I will feel sad that he is no longer with us.

I could spend all day, trying to think of the right words, but I know from my own losses (my parents were both killed in a car accident 4 months ago), that there are no right words. I knew Tim in high school. He was a great guy, and I enjoyed the time I got to spend with him. I will always have those memories. To those of you who are grieving for his loss, I know it is not easy. I pray for God to be with you and to give you the strength to grieve, to cry, to remember. It's not an easy path to travel, but travel it you must.

Timmer was the real deal. He was an accomplished athlete, a scholar and lover of culture, and one of the most energetic comedians the the world will ever know. Those of us who had the pleasure of spending time with Tim Morton will never forget his infectious good humor and joyous outlook on life. We will all miss him.

It's a very terrible loss. I cannot explain the impact he had on my life while working with him at Dusty's. He made all the hard things seem so easy, I took a little piece of that and still carry it around. The world will be different without someone like Tim around. My heart goes out to his family and friends at this sad time.

April 27, 2010

I am extremely saddened to hear of Tim passing. He and I became very good friends while working together at the Silver Lead Wholesale Art Warehouse some years ago. And while I hadn't spoken with Tim in quite some time, I often thought of him, and the fond memories that I will never forget from our friendship. Playing hacky sack and warhouse baseball on our breaks, and our lunch hours hanging out at Gier Park and occasionaly at Champs bar are some of those memories. Timmer was an amazing person, he truly did make the World a better place with his presence alone. He always knew how to make me smile and laugh! My family thought the world of Tim as well, we ate dinner at my parents house quite a few times back then, and they often spoke fondly of Tim. My heart goes out to Tim's family. May you find peace in knowing that Tim has found his.

Tim was the most amazing man I have ever known. His sense of humor - no matter how inappropriate at times- was unrivaled. Tim taught me of artists like Keith Haring and Kandinsky. He taught me to appreciate all genres of music and that it was possible to listen to Vivaldi, Beastie Boys and Jane's Addiction in the same sitting. He taught me strength and to never apologize for who I was- he certainly didn't. A part of my soul is missing with his absence. His smile could light up a room and he could get you to laugh even when you thought you couldn't. My life was forever changed and were it not for Tim I would not be the person I am today. I am a better person for having loved him. I hope that you find peace in the stars Timmy D. You will forever be in my heart.

When I think of Tim, I smile. I think of his exquisite dance moves (jumping through the leg), his body of inappropriate jokes, his rapturous storytelling, bowling backwards, hip hop in the van, MBC. His contagious laugh. In my eyes, he was, and still is the brightest of lights. I will always hold him, and memories dear to my heart...John, Beth, Mr. and Mrs. Morton, Izzy, Ayden, Gaven, Jackson, April, Sparky, Brandy, Ash...and continue the list...my love and thoughts are with you at every moment...

Timmer was and always be one of the best friends I will ever know. His special way of saying the most offensive things to you and make you laugh about it was something you don't find just anywhere. He demonstrated so much compassion and love in every action and extended it to everyone he met. Tim taught me patience and humor, he showed me how to find the light side of any situation. His talents and passions were rare attributes that those of us that knew him recognize and will always be better people for encountering. My love for Tim is infinite. I will always love him and he will find eternity in my memories, the stories I tell and the man I have become through having the honor of having his as my best friend.

April 23, 2010

i remember being the only freshman on the Okemos hockey team and getting the usual razzing from most of the players...including Tim...and one day...as I was walking home...I hear this car horn...it was Tim...offering me a ride home in the middle of winter...and it was at that time that he told me about the fraternity of being on the hockey team...he didn't have to like me...but it was about respect. Tim was a powerful person and I will miss him.
