Virginia Crooks-Knight Obituary

Virginia Ruth Crooks-Knight Columbiaville Virginia Ruth Crooks-Knight, age 89, of Columbiaville died October 5, 2009 at her residence. Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2009 at Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville. Pastor Charles Green will be officiating. Cremation will take place at Sunset Hills Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Donations may be made to the Senior Companion Program in Lansing. She was born in Shady Valley TN on December 25, 1919 to William and Julia (Fletcher) Mays. Virginia was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Lansing, and the South Lansing Lions Club. She loved to read and do needle work, she loved to go to lunch and her jelly packets. She enjoyed her Sunday Church service. Virginia's true passion was for the family farm and her family. Virginia volunteered with the Senior Companion Program. Education was very important to Virginia she worked all her life so she could attend classes at Lansing Community Collage. Virginia worked for several years at Lapeer General Hospital and Sun Crest Hospital. Surviving are her children: Tom (Cheryl) Crooks, Mary Crooks, Kay (Roberto) Carrasco, Gale Crooks, Clayton (Donna) Crooks; stepdaughter: Irene (Bill) Bridges; grandchildren: Jeffrey, Heather, Sherri, Kim, Dan, Becky, Virginia, Marisa, Rob, Clayton II, Jane Marie, Jody, Johnny; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry C. Crooks, and Lynn Knight.
