Wendell Clinton Obituary

Wendell M. "Wendy" Clinton Delta Township Our Loving Husband, Dad and Grandpa went to Heaven on Sunday, September 6, 2009. The third of six children, he was born May 1, 1929 in Fayette, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Dorothy (McGowan) Clinton. In March of 1955 he married his loving wife, Mary (Gill) Clinton. They celebrated over 54 wonderful years together. He was a proud employee of Fisher Body for 27 years, retiring in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed golf, hunting, traveling, spending winters in Clermont, FL, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. His 3 granddaughters were his pride and joy. He was a wonderful man who was always there with love and support. We Love You, and you will be greatly missed. He is survived by wife, Mary; daughter, Melissa (Ron) Maguire; granddaughters, Whitney, Ashton, and Paige; brother, Gary Clinton; sisters, Agatha (Jim) Davenport, Joan Wilson, and Melinda (John) Chaite; sister-in-law, Jackie Clinton; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special family Julie (Don) Root. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hal Clinton. Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 10, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home Grand Ledge. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation Wednesday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Special thanks for the care and compassion provided by Eaton Community Hospice where contributions in memory of Wendell may be made. A lot of years have past since Fisher Body but the memories of working, golfing and boating with Windy and Mary are as clear as yesterday. Truly a respected person and my condolence to his many friends and family.
