William Klein Obituary

William J. Klein Portland Age 86, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010. He was born at his farm house in Portland Township on September 4, 1923 the son of Harry and Agnes (Willems) Klein, Sr. Growing up in the Klein family Bill was taught at an early age the importance of farm ethics. He devoted his life to family and friends. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and lifetime usher. Bill was a lifetime member of the Portland Knights of Columbus Council #2168, the Farm Bureau, and WKAR TV. He loved going north to his cabin to hunt and fish. He also spent much time traveling the northern and southern states. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Klein; sister, Mary Ann Klein. Surviving are his brothers, Joseph H. (Patricia) Klein of Portland and Harry W. Klein, Jr. of Portland; 1 niece; 3 nephews; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. Larry King, Pastor presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and there will be a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation or to the St. Patrick Parish Boiler Fund in memory of William J. Klein. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com
