I will always remember Winifred as Santa Claus. She blessed our family for many years, first at my Grandparents home (Kenneth and Reta Hoffmeyer) and then at our individual families homes as we got older. She was the greatest and the memories of those Christmases and the smiles that she gave to us will be cherished forever. I will try to find pictures of us kids sitting on Santa's lap and pass them along. Thanks to the entire Olds family for sharing her with us.

I have admired and respected Winifred for 41 years through our involvement in community theater. I could write volumes about her and how wonderful she is and how she has touched so many lives in such positive ways. She is irreplaceable as a human being and as an actress. I have never seen anyone in community theater take command of the stage like she did and don't expect I ever will. She is one of a kind. To the family - my heart is breaking for you and you are in my prayers. To Win: THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything you have done for me over the years. For being such a great supporter of my endeavors, a great friend and the best actress to ever grace Starlight's stage. We will all miss you SO much, we can't imagine a season without you. Your biggest fan, Love always, Linda

We have known Winifred for 50 years, but only as Santa Claus.
She would come into our home Christmas eve, and after patiently answer a barrage of questions she would pass out gifts.
Santa then returned to do the same for our grandchildren.
She will be fondly remembered.

What a joy! She lifted our lives, starting with Copper Kettle, and moving on from there. Another legend of Lansing has left. We don't replace, but just honorably remember. Blessings to her family and to her most gracious memory!

My grandchildren have the CD of the Christmas stories she told in church and love it played to them. In fact Thursday we were driving in the car and Luke asked to hear the story of Pedro. I will miss her. She was a wonderful lady.

In recent years Mrs. Olds worked her acting magic as a "simulated patient" for us at MSU's College of Human Medicine helping many classes of future physicians hone their interviewing skills. What a talented, kind, giving lady! I will always remember her so fondly.

She was (and always will be) the First Lady of the Lansing Theatre. More than a pioneer, Winifred, not only helped to establish community theatre, she helped maintain it and played a role in growing it as well. On stage, she had few equals. She was the measuring stick when it came to being a 'headliner'. She was an original and a classic. Never to be replaced and always to be remembered. God Bless you, "Winnie", I'm going to miss you terribly.

I am so grateful that Hank and I met Wes and Win out at the Barn Theater in 1964 when we first moved to Okemos. Our families have been close ever since. We have so many happy memories of activities, events, with members of the Olds family. Win sure has had a wonderful, active, life and she has touched so many lives with her warmth, caring, helpful, ways of making others feel good about themselves, and I could go on forever singing her praises. Remembering way back her being on Copper Kettle, demonstrating T-Fal cookware in a store in the Mall, all the wonderful times and activities out at the Barn Theater. Thanks Wes and Win for being such a happy part of our lives. Olds kids, I know how proud of your folks you are, but you can be proud of yourselves also for being such wonderful, caring and loving kids to them. "Thanks for the Memories". Tons of love to you all and God Bless you all from the Bowers family, Hank, Betsy, David, Mike and Scott and families.
