Darrell L. King, PhD East Lansing Darrell L. King, PhD, born January 10, 1937 to Stephen and Merle (Ellis) King, passed away January 12, 2014. Dr. King was Professor Emeritus in the Michigan State University Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. He loved the outdoors and was a hunter, fisherman and talented woodcarver who cared deeply about the natural world and conservation of resources. Dr. King was a loving husband and father and an incredibly proud grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon K. King; daughters, Nancy Ann (Frank) Swierz of Saline , MI, Carol Lynn (Joe) Porkka of Bellevue, WA and Amy Louise (Ken Lock) King of Grosse Pointe, MI; grandchildren, Katherine Swierz, Eli Porkka, Owen Porkka, Evan Lock and Andrew Lock; brother, Keith (Roberta) King of Corvallis, OR; and sister, Marilyn (Gene) Swenson of Palm Desert, CA. A memorial service will be held in February. Those desiring may make contributions to Sparrow Hospice Services, 1210 W.
