Thomas C. Lindsay, Sr. Lansing Age 87, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014. Tom was born on March 1, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Richard R. and Charlotte (Thompson) Lindsay. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a graduate of the University of Michigan. Tom was a former business manager for St. Mary Hospital and an assistant administrator with Butterworth Hospital. He retired from the State of Michigan, Dept of Health as a State Administrator after 25 years, retiring in 1982. Tom and his wife, Judith wintered in Nokomis, FL for many years. They were members of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Nokomis, FL. He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge in Venice, FL and the American Legion, both in Grand Haven, MI and Venice, FL. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Judith, in 2009; brother, Richard and sisters, Mary Buntjer and Charlotte Reed. Surviving are his children, Thomas, II (Karen Burgess), Richard (Sally), Gary (Michael Chapman) and Judith (Michael) Ward; 8 grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Ward, Lynsii Ward, Thomas Lindsay, III, Amanda Silva, Jennifer Lindsay, Nathan (Jessica) Lindsay, Abigail (Jeff) Hukill and Robert (Kim) Chapin; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Briggs. A Celebration of Tom's life will be held Friday, February 14, 10:30 a.m. at Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel with Vincent Kuntz of St. Gerard Church officiating. Inurnment will take place later at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Nokomis, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ingham County Medical Care Facility.
