Irving Ross Lemmen Delta Township Age 93, went to be with The Lord, Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Irving was born August 1, 1920 in Holland, MI to the late Raymond and Theresa (Huyser) Lemmen. Following graduation Irv joined the United States Army where he served in World War II as a decorated German Intercept Operator. Irv was a longtime resident of the Lansing area and a member of the Immanuel Community Reformed Church since 1967. He owned Lemmen Leghorn Farms, retired as an accountant from Farm Bureau Services, and finished his career at Royal Lincoln Mercury. Irv enjoyed reading, bowling, traveling, was an avid golfer, and was passionate about his volunteering for the City Rescue Mission. Irv loved his summers at Turk Lake and will be missed at the many family gatherings he made into traditions. Irv is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Norma Lemmen (2010) a brother, Wayne (Carleen) Lemmen, and a brother-in-law Howard Kammeraad. He is survived by his 3 children; Raymond (Ann) Lemmen, Mary (John ) Duff, and Ruth (David) Brouwer, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother Douglas Lemmen, a sister Shirley Kammeraad, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Community Reformed Church with Pastor Richard Heusinkveld officiating. Interment will take place in Delta Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel. Visitation will continue Saturday at the church starting at 10:00 a.m. Contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice or Immanuel Community Reformed Church in Memory of Irv.
