Eaton Rapids

 Philip W. Post of Eaton Rapids a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend went to be with the Lord March 10, 2014 due to complications from myelodysplastic syndrome.  Phil was born April 11, 1940 in Highland, Michigan to the late Henry J. and Alice L. (Sluyter). Phil was a Territorial Manager for John Deere Co. and was a longtime member of South Church.  He enjoyed biking, sailboats, collecting John Deere memorabilia and traveling. He had even traveled to every state in the continental United States. Phil lived his life with grace and dignity and he was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.  He was a kind and compassionate man and will be dearly missed. 

Phil is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Parker); children, Tina (Brian) Buck, Aaron Post and Chris (Lisa) Post; grandsons, Brandon and Caleb; sister, Marilyn Duncan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandson, Alexander and sister, Karen.  The family would like to thank Dr. Al-Janadi and Dr. O'Mara and the staff at Breslin Cancer Center for their loving care and compassion through Phil's illness and the Sparrow Neuro ICU for the care they provided Phil this last week.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 14, 2014, 11:00am at South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Dr., Lansing, Michigan 48917 with Pastor Ben Cuthbert, officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Oneida Twp., Eaton Co., MI. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge.
