Carl E Burk St. Johns Carl E. Burk, 83 of rural St. Johns died at his home on March 17, 2014. He was born on September 13, 1930 in St. Johns, MI the son of Clarence & Hazel (Rhines) Burk. Carl worked first as a dairy farmer and later as a milk truck driver. On September 20, 1958 he married Joyce Stucky in Detroit. He served in the U.S. Army in Panama during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and reading. Survived by his wife Joyce, children Sandra Burk, David Burk, Sheila (Doug) Beck, Mary (Steve) Whitelock and Ruth Burk, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, nephew Christopher Isaac whom he raised. Preceded in death by his parents, infant child, sister and brother-in-law, Martha (Leon) Isaac. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, 989-224-4422 on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Friday, March 21, 2014, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorials may be given to Lansing City Rescue Mission or Sparrow Clinton Hospice.
