Age 94, entered heaven, Thursday, March 20, 2014. Louie was born, July 27, 1919 in Lansing, MI the son of George and Anna (Raad) Zarka. A Lansing resident for most of his life, Louie was a self employed painter and very skilled at his craft. He is a long standing respected member of St. Joseph Melkite Church. Louie was an accomplished artist who enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling and camping. A loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Louie was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marie in 2001; brothers, Isaac and Iasar; sisters, Zakieh, Rosie and Bahia; son in law, Cary Dye. He is survived by his loving children, Noel (Robert) Soloman, Maurice (Karen) Zarka, Nadeem (Julia) Zarka and Carol Dye; sister, Nimrae; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held, Monday, March 24, 2014, 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Melkite Church with Rev. Fr. James Graham officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends, Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel where a Trisigion Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Melkite Church in memory of Louie. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.palmerbush.com.
