Went to be with her Lord Friday, April 25, 2014 at the age of 100. Mary was born March 14, 1914 in Lansing, MI to the late Carmen and Francisca (Sava) Stornant. Mary graduated from St. Mary's High School and met the love of her life Theodore Palmer by a chance phone call which led to 61 years together.

Mary loved to play cards, was an active volunteer at her church, loved to garden, can and freeze food, and especially enjoyed to cook and entertain.

For about 6 years she volunteered as a Gray Lady at St. Lawrence Hospital.

She was devoted to both her faith and family and will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore in 1998, an infant grandson Christopher Williams, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. She is survived by her 3 children; Ron (Anita) Palmer, Pam (Bill) Williams, and Ted (Madeline) Palmer, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, 1 sister; Louise Schiavetti, 2 brothers; Sam and Thomas Stornant, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, April 28, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Lansing, with Rev. Fr. John Byers as celebrant. Private Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 P.M. with Sister Pat Newhouse. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Special Olympics Area #8 in memory of Mary.
