Randall "Randy" Charles Rairigh

Pensacola, FL

Randall "Randy" Charles Rairigh, aka "Stretch", "Tinner", died unexpectedly on June 24, 2014, in Pensacola, Florida. He was born June 28, 1955 to Vivian and Marjory Rairigh. He was a 1973 graduate of Lakewood Schools (Lake Odessa). He worked for E. W. Bliss in Hastings before moving on to GM in Lansing. He studied at Lansing Community College while working for GM and got his Journeyman's Card as a tinsmith. When Plant 2 closed, he moved to Kansas City to finish out his 30 years with GM before retiring. After retiring, he and his wife, Sue, moved to Pensacola, Florida. Randy always needed to be busy, and he loved a challenge, he began working as a handyman, becoming well respected in that area for his excellent craftsmanship in custom cabinetry and home remodeling. He was doing what he loved to do the day he passed away.

Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mearl and Clementine Rairigh, and Gaylia and Charles Brooks. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Sue, and their children: PFC Ranell M. Rairigh-Odegaard [LTC(R) Michael Conner], Mearl C. Rairigh (Tracy Michaud), SSGT(R) Devin M. Rairigh (Danielle), Tamara Houle Hurst (J.C.), and Tracy Houle Thompson; by his grandchildren: PVT Alex Odegaard (Samantha), Leif and Nicole Odegaard, Bella Rairigh, Tatianna and Gabriella Hurst, Jordan Houle, and Zachary Thompson. Randy is survived by his parents, and by siblings: Elnora Wallin (Harry), Dallas Rairigh, and Nola Payne (Mark); and a host of nieces and nephews: Drew (Rachael), Craig (Erika) and Barry (Jessica) Sayer (and families), Quentin White-Rairigh, Danielle and Tyler (Julie) Payne, and Gary Hansen. He will be greatly missed by his family, his extended family, and by many, many friends here in Michigan, as well as Kansas and Florida.

Services will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Sunfield United Methodist Church at 227 Logan Street, Sunfield, Michigan. Family will greet guests starting at 10:30 with Celebration of Life starting at noon. Pastor Mark Payne will officiate. Luncheon will follow. Interment will be at Woodland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Autism Society of Michigan c/o Rosier Funeral Home P.O. Box 36 Sunfield, MI 48890. The family is being served by Rosier Funeral Home of Sunfield.
