Marie Dorothy (Klaassen) Campbell, 94, went to be with our Lord on July 22, 2014 at her daughter's home in rural Eaton Rapids Michigan. She was born on November 2, 1919 in Mountain Lake Minnesota.
Glen and Marie served churches in Richland, St. Paul, and Delavan, Minnesota; and Orangeville, Michigan. Marie was active in Christian education in all of the churches they served. In 1967 they moved to Grand Rapids Michigan where Glen worked as a Pastor-Counselor at The Radio Bible Class. Marie and Glen moved to Eaton Rapids Michigan in June of 1999 to live near their daughter, Ruth, and they became members of Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Marie was an avid gardener and sports fan and followed college basketball and football teams, the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed watching golf. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed playing games of all kinds. She excelled at Crossword puzzles. Above all she dearly loved the Lord and sought to serve Him and honor him in her daily life.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, one sister, and three brothers. She is survived by daughters Ruth (Hank) Benjamin of Eaton Rapids, Susan (Bill) McConnell of Gales Ferry, CT, Linda (Art) Feingold, of Raleigh NC; grandchildren Tamah (Micah) Winzeler of Eaton Rapids, MI, Nicole (John) Ramirez of Belleville NJ, Steven Feingold of Washington D.C., David (Ann) Foreman of Lehigh Acres, FL and five great grandchildren, Elora and Elisha Winzeler, Gabriel Ramirez, and Benjamin and Marisa Foreman. She is also survived by one brother, Harry Klaassen, of Stillwater MN, and two sisters-in-law, Minnie Buyse of Carmichael CA, and Marcelyn Pedersen of Lake Crystal, MN.
A celebration of her life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte, MI on August 2, 2014 at 10 AM.
Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids following the service. Visitation at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte on Friday, August 1 at 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to: Baptist Haiti Mission, Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte, or Eaton Community Palliative Care.
