Lawrence F. (Bud) Loucks

Lawrence F. (Bud) Loucks, 93, died peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2014. Bud was born January 29, 1921, the son of Lawrence and Ruth (Fenick) Loucks. A lifelong resident of Charlotte, Bud started Wagner and Loucks Oil Company (now D&L Fuels) in 1955 with partner Burt Wagner. He was a member of Kiwanis and Rotary, a 31st degree Mason, and a former City Councilman. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and attending Tigers baseball games as a loyal fan. He was a Michigan and National trapshooting champion, which earned him a place in the Michigan Trapshooting Hall of Fame. Bud also enjoyed spending time at home on the farm, up north at his cottage at Houghton Lake and deer camp in the Upper Peninsula.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife Phylis in 2009 and brother John in 2011. He is survived by his son Jerry (Bonne) Loucks of Grand Ledge; two grandchildren, Kathy (Steve) Dalessandro and Kevin (Holly Jenks) Loucks; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristina Dalessandro; nephew, Mike (Debra) Loucks, and niece Nancy Loucks; and great-nephew and niece Bill and Mary Ann Loucks.
Visitation will be Monday, July 28, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. A private family funeral is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care. Arrangements by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
