Larry Rowland Yarbrough

Passed away August 31, 2014 at the age of 60. Larry was born March 30, 1954 in Selma, AL. to George Morgan and Sara (Rowland) Yarbrough. He grew up in a career military family and traveled around the world while serving four years in the Coast Guard. Michigan became his home in 1977. He was a Master Electrician at Michigan State University where he worked for 33 years and met the love of his life, his wife Jill. He retired in December of 2012.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a kind and compassionate man who always provided for his family. Larry enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, boating, motorcycle riding, and party vacations with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and the unconditional love he gave to his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steve Yarbrough.
Surviving is his wife of thirty years, Jill Yarbrough; son Christopher Yarbrough (Kristin); daughter Lindsey Yarbrough, grandchild Connor Yarbrough; brother George Yarbrough (Yun-Hui) and sisters, Dondra Kirk (Robert) and Theresa Welch (Phillip); brother-in-law Tom Fuhrig (Loretta), Mike Fuhrig (Pam), Steve Fuhrig (Kym); chosen brother and sister Gene and Diane Marvin; nieces Adrienne, Jocelyn, Anne, Katie, Lauren; nephews Jason, Joshua, Steve, Leland, Ryan, Austin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014, 3:00 pm, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing. The family will receive friends Friday, September 5, 4-7 pm and Saturday from 2-3 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations will support the Frankel Cardiovascular Center Patient and Family Centered Care Fund. Please make the donation in the name of Larry Yarbrough and identify the fund.
