This man was a Giant.... He was a Leader... He was my Key Master... He was my best Friend... He was the Golden anchor In the many years we shared in Boy Scouts...helping Boys become men in earning the Best thing in Life.. Become a Eagle Scout.. his hard line of responsibility..ones dedication to Family and Community...I sit here in a total flood of tears....He was everything that I wanted to be... .their just are no words I can express right now what this man meant to me.. He was the man who told me you are the new Scout Master. I remember it like yesterday, driving into my drive...and this is what we are going to do...we have boys that want and need your help...and yes Troop 763 made the odd balls into some of the very Best in Mason...The hours we gave them... the many weekends we gave up to make it happen... just a few who believed in we will be there and see this through..his son Andy..my son Ben.. Pete Lotridge and his dad Dino...His love for my son Matthew...His visits to my shop, weekly.. our love for winter skiing... and just to think he was here just not that long ago....his answer in the early AM ..when he stated my bed took a bad turn... What a beautiful Friend ..and now this...To Maggie, Barb, and Andy ..I am sorry for your loss...This 4th will mean so much more to me than you will know,,,,God bless.. this one I never saw coming... Fred ..do look down on me and give me Hell...You will always be with me... Hugs and love...

I just heard of Fred's passing and was shocked. Fred frequently stopped to visit when he came to town to research coins at the U of M library. We worked together at Pegasi for five years. He was a good friend and colleague. My condolences to Maggie and his family.
