Albert W. Russo Lansing Born May 1, 1916 in Greenfield, MA, the son of the late Martin and Mary Julia (Filosi) Russo, passed away December 7, 2012 at the age of 96. Albert proudly served his country in the Philippines from 1941 ~ 1944 earning his Purple Heart in 1946. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1975 after many years of service. He served as Eucharistic Minister until the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Jo. Surviving to cherish his memory are sons, John (Judy), Robert (Marilyn) and William; grandchildren, Johnnie Sue, Nicole, Shawn, Jeremy (Elizabeth), Michelle (Kevin), Kyle and Alissa; six great grandchildren; brother, George (Mary) Russo; and sister, Mary Plant. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 10th at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with the Rev. Larry Delaney of St. Francis Retreat Center as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 9th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. For those desiring contributions may be made in memory of Albert to the Church of the Resurrection. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes.
