W. Robert "Bob" Cornwell Lansing W. Robert "Bob" Cornwell lost his courageous struggle against cancer on Thursday, December 20, 2012. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Bob was born in Elsie, MI on June 14, 1931, the son of Clarence and Margaret (Steere) Cornwell. He graduated from Elsie High School in 1949 and from Michigan State University in 1953. Following college he became a highly respected employee of the Michigan Department of Education where he served as a specialist in teacher certification. He was a kind and compassionate man who was loyal to his family and friends, cared about the less fortunate among us, and loved animals. His loving survivors are sister Mary Ellen (David) Laurin; sister-in-law Kathy (William) Cornwell; nieces and nephews Steve (Noel) Cornwell, Linda Cornwell Johnson, Archie (Karen) McMillan, Jr., Gwen (Ron) Scutt, Mathew (Heather) Laurin, Ryan Laurin, Beverly (Jason) Bulock, Fawna Laurin, Keith Laurin, Andrea Laurin and the many grand nieces and nephews he adored.
