Waldo V. "Red" Fisher Obituary
Waldo V. "Red" Fisher Alma, MI (Formerly of Sheridan) Waldo V. (Red) Fisher was born November 24, 1913 in Morenci, Michigan to Idell F. (nee Dennis) and Clyde M. Fisher. He died February 15, 2013 at the age of 99 in Alma. Red graduated from Lansing Eastern High. He proudly served a tour in the Civilian Conservation Corps near Newberry. He worked a time at the Olds in Lansing. He lived most of his years in Sheridan, MI, working as the village engineer and as a county deputy sheriff. He also served there as a volunteer fireman and as fire chief. He retired working for the intermediate school district in Stanton. Red spent many winters in Florida and summers near Charlevoix fishing big waters with a passion. He also enjoyed deer hunting with the guys up at the Shack. He faithfully attended the family, school and CCC reunions. Mr. Fisher was a member of the Masons and the Eastern Star, and of the Sheridan Congregational Church. In 2004 he moved himself and wife Dorothy to the Masonic Pathways home in Alma. Red Fisher was preceded in death by his first wife, Marguerite (Taylor) Fisher in 1994; by his brothers, Hazen in 1953 and Arthur in 1975; and by his sisters, Marie Sovereign in 1987 and Marge Gardner in 1990. Red is survived by his second wife, Dorothy (Bateman) Webb Fisher and her family; by daughter, Bonnie (Lynn) Wickerham of Greenville, MI and Ruskin, FL; son, Lannie of St. Johns; grandsons, Brent (Karen) Wickerham of Greenville and Brett (Katie) Wickerham of Belding; and great-grandsons, Blake Wickerham of Raleigh, NC and Nicholas Wickerham of Belding. Red was Uncle Waldo to several nieces and nephews. Arrangements for Mr. Fisher's memorial service this spring will be forthcoming. Also a brief Masonic service at Pathways in Alma will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at 11 a.m. Memories may be shared with the family at
