Charles J. Greenough Lansing Charles (Chuck) Greenough passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the age of 91. He was born April 17, 1921 in Royal Oak, MI and later grew up in Dansville, MI. He was the son of A.O. and Mildred (Laughlin) Greenough. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Irene Voss and Betty Ann Eldred. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, June; their children, Debbie (Terry) Kubitz, Richard, David (Robin) Greenough, and James (Shawn) Greenough; 4 grandchildren, Chrissy, Katie, Jared, and Marielle; 2 brothers, Ralph and Robert Greenough; and many nieces and nephews. Charles graduated from Dansville High School and joined the Army Air Corp in 1942. He completed B-17 pilot training and flew 33 combat missions over Europe in 1944. After being shot down over France, his last combat mission, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal from the U.S. Government, and the Legion of Honor from the French Government. After military service, Charles lived in Lansing and worked for the Campbell Soup Company as a sales representative for 38 years. After retirement, he continued to be a lifelong MSU fan and enjoyed watching MSU basketball and football games. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Tendercare West for the loving care they gave to Chuck while he was there. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, MI with Pastor Rob Cook officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Tiffany Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Charles' memory may be made to Mount Hope United Methodist Church.
