Burton F. "Burt" Eldridge DeWitt Burt, age 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 30, at the Prestige Pines Nursing Home in DeWitt, Michigan. Burt was born October 18, 1923 in Owosso, MI, the son of Frank and Effie Eldridge. He lived most of his life in Corunna, Michigan prior to his retirement in 1979 from Consumers Power Co. He graduated from Owosso High School in 1942 and shortly thereafter entered the Army. He was a proud veteran, having landed at Normandy during the second wave. Upon discharge, he and Hazel (Hann) married in Owosso on June 30, 1946. Son, Rodney "Crunch" was born in 1947. Burt is survived by wife, Hazel; son, Crunch (Diana Parker); grandsons, Del, Troy (Sandi) Warner and Brent (Kellie) Warner; and great-grandchildren, Seth, Maci, Mackenze, Brendan, Lyle, Ryan, Tanisha, Nathan, Raymond, Grace and Becca. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Lavina, Bernice, Vera, Velma, Rosetta and brothers, Dan, Dutch, Vern and Frank. Burt was an avid sportsman who loved to golf, hunt and fish. He also enjoyed being a remote control airplane pilot known as "Crash." Burt has chosen to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Schavey Road, DeWitt, Michigan, with Rev.
