Ramiro Perez Grand Ledge Ramiro G. Perez, 83, passed away June 13, 2013. He was born March 8, 1930, in LaPaloma, Texas to Jesus and Modesta (Garza) Perez. Ramiro migrated to Michigan in 1948. He worked for General Motors for 31½ years before retiring. He served his country for 27½ years, going to the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. He then served in the Army Reserve, from which he retired. He married Lydia Gonzales on August 7, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Irma Perez; brothers, Alfredo and Isidoro Perez; sister, Maria Alicia Arambula; grandchildren, Darrell Perez and Analberto J. Cantu; and his loving and playful dog, Buddy. He is survived by his wife, Lydia G. Perez; children, Esmeralda (Phil) Clements, Daniel (Elizabeth) Perez, Teresa (Aaron) Carter, Patricia (Adam) Cantu; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service is 10:00 AM Monday, June 17, 2013 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary service at Tiffany Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Memorials may be made to the Kidney/Dialysis Center through the funeral home.
