Patricia F. Smith Age 64. Our beloved singer/songwriter mother and friend passed away on June 24, 2013. Patwas one of 14 children born to the late Vera and Sam Scott of Dublin, GA. on January 4, 1949. Pat moved to Lansing in the 1960s and started her career for General Motors/Oldsmobile becoming the first African-American female supervisor /foreman. She advanced her career by becoming an Electronic Monitoring Technician for the State of MI/Dept of Corrections. She continued this career until she fell sick. Pat was an avid prayer warrior. She loved Jesus! She was a Mother-Evangelist for the community. Pat was always ministering and spreading the love of God by either singing and/or talking for hours. One of her most cherished passions was serving as a choir director for the youth choir at New Jerusalem Church. Pat was preceded in death by her brother Anderson and her sister Lucille. Pat is survived by her daughters Audra Alexander/Dodie of Southfield, MI, Laquandra Potter/Peaches (Aleczander) Whitfield of Charlotte, NC, Ebony Smith and sons Mark(Jessica), Emmanuel Smith all of Lansing, MI and 5 grandchildren Aleczandria Simone, Aleczis, Aleaya, Maurice, Elijah and 1 God-grandson, Coby; sister, Ann Jeffries and brothers, Leroy and Leon Scott all of Lansing, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended kids, cousins, family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11a.m. at the Tabernacle of David located on 2645 W Holmes Rd in Lansing, MI with Pastor Charles E. Bicy officiating. Family hour will be held at 10a.m. Interment will follow at Delta Center Cemetery, Delta Twp. Visitation will be from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Thursday at theTiffany Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made in Pat's name to The Patricia F. Smith Foundation, to help raise awareness for Leiomyosarcoma. Memories will be shared on her website email@example.com.
