Ross A. De Lau Age 71, passed away September 2, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes of Perry with pastor John Walworth officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM also at the funeral home. Ross was born February 26, 1942 in Lansing, Michigan and was raised lovingly by Joseph and June Darmogray. He graduated from Perry High School in 1960 and attended Central Michigan University. On February 8, 1964 he married Peggy McDevitt in Morrice, Michigan. In 1962 Ross began his career at General Motors where he worked for 41 years, retiring in 2003. In addition, he was a member of the Perry Area Fire Department from 1964-2012 where he retired as Assistant Chief. Ross also served as the Mayor of Perry from 2006 to present, making him the longest serving Mayor in Perry history. On March 3,2007 Ross married Catherine Sanford in Perry Michigan. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tim (Theresa), Todd (Cindy), Troy (Renee) and daughter Terese Calkins (Tryon); grandchildren, Taylor, Jenna, Madison, Cassidy ,Samantha, Ryan, Alexandria, Lauren, Garrett, Gavin, Jonathan, Joshua, and Kennedy; brothers, Barry DeLau, Joseph Darmogray (Becky); and sister JoEllen Darmogray. Also surviving are his wife Catherine, step-daughters: Amy (John) Deiter, Kelly (Ron) Jacobs and step-granddaughters Madison and Gwenny.
