Harold D. Shane O.D. Lansing Formerly of St. Johns Harold D. Shane, O.D. died Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born January 19, 1926 in Grand Ledge, MI the son of Charles Sr. and Edith (McConnell) Shane. Harry was a former member of the Congregational Church in St. Johns and the St. Johns-Ovid Masonic Lodge and currently is a member of the Michigan and American Optometric Association. He was a member of the former St. Johns Exchange Club and Clinton County Country Club and served in the Navy during WWII. Harry was an optometrist in St. Johns from 1950 until his retirement in 1988. On October 28, 1950 he married Donna Baker and she survives him. Also surviving is one daughter, Sue (Greg) Crawley of Lansing; one son, Jim (Laura) Shane of Crestview, FL; grandchildren, Jeff Crawley and Meg Campbell-Crawley, Danielle (Chris) Cole, Kristen Shane and Michael Shane; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chad and his twin Jerry. The family will receive relatives and friends during a time of fellowship and celebration of Harry's life on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
