Gordon Hiatt DeWitt Formerly of Webberville Passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at age 90. Born May 16, 1923 to Oran and Celia Hiatt in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Gordon was a member of the local carpenters union #1004 during which time he worked for Granger Construction, Christman Compnay and Brown Brothers. He was a member of the DeWitt VFW Post 671. Gordon honorably served in the US Navy during WWII where he was a crew member of the Bluefish SS-222 submarine. Preceding him in death were his wife, Jacquelyn; son, Darrin; infant daughter, Susan; brothers, Virgil and Glen; sister, Helen and his parents. Surviving are his daughters, Lisa (John) Cox, Penny (James) Bohnett; sons, Steve (Theresa) Hiatt, Rodney Hiatt, Robert (Paula) Hiatt, Howard (Patricia) Travis, Mark (Allison) Travis; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Margaret) Hiatt; special friend, Gloria as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held from 4-6 pm on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the VFW Post 671, 12250 Old Us Hwy 27 DeWitt, MI 48820.
