He pastored churches in Dimmit, Blum, Jayton, Lubbock, Odessa and finally, Abernathy, until his retirement in 2001. He and Carmelita managed the Clairmont Retirement Residence and worked for Holiday Retirement Corp. until retirement in 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents; Carmelita, his wife of almost 65 years in 2009; and an infant daughter, Melody Lynn in 1950. Murry is survived by two sons, Rick Brewer and wife Kathy of McKinney and Larry Brewer and wife Sue of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
