Pritchett, Robert Dan  
Robert Dan Pritchett LUBBOCK-Robert Dan Pritchett passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2016. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering for family and friends on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, from 6 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Dan was born to J.C. and Minnie (Lawless) Pritchett on September 19, 1930, in Colorado City, Texas. Following graduation from Colorado City High School he married Retha Porter on Sept. 16, 1949. The couple moved to Lubbock in 1964, and Dan was a local businessman. Along with his parents, Dan is preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Retha Pritchett; four children, Susan Nall and husband, Brent of Lubbock, Michael Pritchett and wife, Barbara of Ransom Canyon, Anne Heath and husband, Gary, and Clay Pritchett and wife, Joyce, all of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Lubbock, 3702 21st Street, Lubbock, TX 79410 or The Haven Animal Care Shelter, 4501 N FM 1729-NCR 3000, Lubbock, TX 79403.

Shutes, Bernice Marie  
Bernice Marie Shutes LUBBOCK-Bernice Marie Shutes, 94, of Lubbock, formerly of El Paso, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Tamarack, MN, to Carl and Edith Nelson. Bernice is survived by her three daughters, Janet and Bob Conkin of Littlefield, Nancy and Doug Robbins of Paragould, AR, and Kathryn and Karl Ellison of Hampton, TN; four grandchildren, Brian Conkin, Kristen McDonald, Kyle Robbins and Cameron Ellison; and four great-grandchildren, Aidan and Jacey McDonald, Hannah Conkin and Ripley Robbins. Waiting for her in Heaven was her husband, Richard Shutes who passed away in 1996; her parents, and two brothers. Services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Grace Chapel at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield with Charlie Johnson officiating. Interment will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The Salvation Army, or your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.

Wilson, Mary Helen (Cypert)  
Mary Helen (Cypert) Wilson May 5, 1930 - Sept. 21, 2016 FLOYDADA-Mary was born in Cedar Hill in Floyd County, Texas. She married Paul Wilson on Feb. 23, 1948, in Plainview, Texas. They moved the family a few years later to Farmington, N.M., where they resided for 15 years before returning to Floydada, Texas. Mary moved back to New Mexico seven years ago to live in Aztec with her granddaughter, Helen Trujillo. Helen really enjoyed getting to know her grandmother as an adult and found she had a great sense of humor. Mary really enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved her cousins that she was raised with, Nancy, Geraldine (deceased), Florene (the Brown sisters) and Norma Dean (Kelley). She loved talking with her baby brother, Gayle who would send her e-cards that would make her laugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Wilson; son, Stephen Paul Wilson; parents, Bassel and Goldie Cypert; sister Doris E. (Cypert) McPeak; brother Homer Ray Cypert. She is survived by her son, Gary Lynn Wilson (Lea Andra); daughter, Phyllis Annette Trujillo (Lonnie); brother, Gayle Cypert (Vickie); Grandchildren, Kevin Wilson (Stephanie Ann), Amy Lea Wilson, Garrett Gilliland, LaRae Reep (Jacob), Helen Trujillo, Anita Trujillo-Logan (Michael); six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Also many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be handled by Moore-Rose Funeral Home held at the Lockney Cemetery in Lockney, Texas, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016.

Wood, Freda  
Freda Wood DENTON-Freda Dotson Wood of Denton, Texas; the comedian of our family passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. She fought her battle with courage and grace. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Dotson, mother, Eunice Dotson; brother, James Dotson and sister, Elwanda Ford (Sissy). Those she left behind include: husband, Lee Wood; sons, John Wood (Beverly), Barry Wood; brother, Glenn Dotson (Ann); sisters, Vonnell Lindsey (Sherill), Linda Kelley (Jerry); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a large extended family and friends who knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 8, 2016, at The Portwood Pavillion Located at 800 E. Morris St., Seymour, Texas.

York, Billy J.  
Billy J. York LUBBOCK-Billy J. York of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at the age of 86. He was born in Roaring Springs, Texas, to the late John Franklin and Etta Mae York. He married Francis A. Guice and was blessed with 66 years of marriage. Bill was in law enforcement for 15 years, first as a police officer and then as a Sheriff's deputy. Thereafter, he was employed in the banking industry where he eventually earned the title of Vice President until 1974. From 1978 to the present, he was a real estate broker and appraiser. Bill was a good photographer and also enjoyed woodworking. He was a deacon and trustee at Highland Baptist Church. He had a passion for traveling and he and his wife visited all 50 states together. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Francis A. York; daughters and their spouses: Vicki (Paul) Phillips, Candace York (James Callahan); son: Alan C. York; grandchildren and spouses: Josh (Brandi) Phillips, Jenny McClelland and Julie (Benjamin) Stinespring ; great-grandchildren: Jacob McClelland, Nathanial Phillips, Luke Phillips and Cassidy Stinespring; and nephew and spouse: Bo (Verna) Bowman. Bill's parents and eight brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at Resthaven with a memorial service to follow at Highland Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Condolences and online guestbook can be found on our website at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com .
