Alvin Fleming LUBBOCK- Alvin Dee Fleming, 81, passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebration his life is scheduled at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A tribute of Dee may be found at, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family. Alvin Dee was born on Nov. 21, 1931 in Brownfield, Texas to William Lee and Velma Fleming. Dee served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1948 until 1952. He married Shirley Jo Greaves on Oct. 9, 1954 in Clovis, N.M. Dee was a truck driver transporting goods for various companies for 50 years, Furrs, Allen Transportation, D and L Transport, and retired from Fleming Food in November of 1991. He enjoyed trout fishing in Colorado and hunting wild life in West Texas. Dee was a member of the Assembly of God Church, where he served as an usher. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jo Fleming; five daughters, Belinda Scott and husband, Harold, Sharon Jackson and husband, Mark, Vickie Stroud, Diana Clark, and Gayla Harridge and husband, Don; nine grandchildren, Autumn Scott, Karis Noland and husband, Ryan, Jeff Jackson and his wife, Cecily, Stephanie Jackson, Toby Stroud and wife, Gloria, Jerrell Adams and wife, Christina, Melanie Clark, Ashley White and husband, Steven, Amber Harridge; and six great-grandchildren. Dee is also survived by his brothers, Wayne Fleming and his wife, Vada, and Bob Fleming and wife, Syndey. Dee was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Traci Stroud on Nov. 24, 1995.
