Bobbie Lavern Loggins

Bobbie Lavern Loggins LUBBOCK-Bobbie Lavern Loggins, 79, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Jan. 20, 2013. She was born on June 25, 1933, in Crowell, Texas, to Isaiah Newman and Delia Bell Rainwater. She was the fourth child of eight children. She went to school in Vernon, Texas, was a 1952 graduate of Dunbar High School, and attended beauty school in Austin, Texas. She worked faithfully and with dedication in her community and church, and her generosity extended to all. Her love of volunteering in soup kitchens and clothes banks, along with visiting people in nursing homes, was only surpassed by her passion for praying for others, spreading the Word of God, and most importantly, studying the Bible. Lives were touched everywhere she lived, including in Texas, Germany, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Colorado. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronnie D. Williams; one grandson, Jerry Williams; one brother, James Newman; and two sisters, Ethel Childers and Estella Whidby. Bobbie leaves to cherish her devoted life, her husband, Raymond Eli Loggins; two sons, Jerry Williams and Reginald Loggins; three grandchildren, LeRonn Williams, Julian Williams and Jerika Williams; one great grandchild, Ty Williams; three sisters, Juanita Gibson, Edna Holmes (Richard) and Della Dade Showers; one brother, John Newman (Bernadine); and a host of relatives and friends. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Lubbock Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
