Clarence Wilchenski

Chief Master Sgt. (Ret.) Clarence R. Wilchenski LUBBOCK- Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Clarence R. Wilchenski, 71, of Lubbock passed away at home June 29, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 5 until 7 p.m. A Rosary will be held in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel immediately following visitation. A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Interment will follow with full military honors in Resthaven Memorial Park. Clarence was born on Oct. 11, 1941 in Throop, Pa. to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Yuhas) Wilchenski. He graduated from North Pocono Jointure High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart the former Corinne Ann Testa of Moscow, PA. After graduation he joined the merchant Marines. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in February 1961 and completed his military training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Chief Master Sergeant Wilchenski devoted the rest of his career to the United States Air Force during that time he was stationed in Greece, Spain, Germany, South Dakota, Ohio, and Illinois. Chief Wilchenski's military awards and decoration include the Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, The Air Force Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Outstanding United Award and the Air Force Good Conduct medal. He also worked with the Department of Transportation. After 30 years of service he retired from the Air Force. During his retirement he enjoyed and savored the little things that make life so precious. He devoted himself to his family. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Corinne; sons, Kenneth and wife Stacey, Jeffrey and wife Katherine; grandchildren, Brittany, Bryce, Brett, Dre, Amber, Heather, Tabitha, and Cheyenne; great-grandchildren, Payton, Ayden, and Joslyn; and one sister, Susan Musica and husband Nick.
