Dan Langford WELLINGTON- Dan Langford, age 67, of Wellington died Friday, November 9, 2012 in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor, Rev. Johnny Tims, retired Baptist minister, Rev. Derwin Comer, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church, and Larry Haddock, minister of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dan was born on July 6, 1945 in Wellington to Henry Cash and Geneva Massey Langford. He graduated from Quail High School in 1964, attended Clarendon College and West Texas A&M University. He married Janise on January 24, 1985 in Oklahoma City. He was a farmer, was currently serving his twenty-sixth year as a Collingsworth County Commissioner, and served as a volunteer fireman for 28 years until 2006. Dan had served on the Farmers Coop Gin board, the Wellington School Board, the Collingsworth Public Library Board, and the Mesquite Ground Water District Board. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Janise Langford of Wellington; his mother, Geneva Langford of Wellington; four daughters, Carrie Warren and her husband Kenneth and Dana Langford all of Wellington, Abbey Hanson of Friendswood, Texas, and Alisa Bennett and her husband Caleb of McKinney; a son, Cash Langford of Wellington; two brothers, H.C. Langford and his wife Frankie of Stillwater, Okla. and Don Langford and his wife Carol of Valencia, Calif.; two sisters, Janelle Fielding and her husband Garland of Garland and Jan Chambers and her husband Eddie of Graham; and four granddaughters, Kelsey and Cameron Warren, Addison and Hadley Bennett. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry and a brother, Loyd Ray Langford. The family suggests that memorials be to Collingsworth County 4H Program or the Home Delivered Meals.
