Fannie Carlise

Fannie Marie Carlisle KRESS- Fannie Marie Carlisle, age 86, was born December 11, 1926 in Knox City, Texas and January 31, 2013 in Granbury, Texas. She was a graduate of Knox City High School and of Draughen's Business College in Lubbock, Texas. Fannie married James Douglas Carlisle on August 17, 1946 in Knox City, Texas. He preceded her in death on September, 15, 1995. She was a long-time resident of Kress, Texas. She moved to Granbury in 2003. Fannie worked as a bookkeeper at Farmer's Elevator in Kress from 1963 to 1966. In 1966, Fannie became the high school librarian at Kress ISD and served in that job until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Kress First Baptist Church and served in various organizations. Sharing her faith and hope in Jesus Christ was very important to her. She was a great example to her family and always encouraged them to follow Christ. She was a long-time member of Eastern Star and the Kress Study Club. Her favorite hobby was shopping, and was a charter member of the PBSA, Professional Bargain Shopper's Association. Fannie is survived by Mike and Anja Carlisle of Granbury and Jim and Traci Carlisle of Carrollton; granddaughter, Jessica and husband Scott Rowe of Allen; grandson, Ross Carlisle of Denver, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Emerson, Hayden and Lincoln; sister, Mary Lou DuFour and husband Roy of San Clemente, California; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation is scheduled at Wiley's Funeral Home in Granbury from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, with visitation at Kornerstone Funeral Home in Plainview from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 and a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon at the First Baptist Church Kress.
