Flora Izell Proctor

Flora Izell Proctor TURKEY-Flora Izell Proctor, 98, of Turkey passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in Turkey. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in Turkey at the First Baptist Church with Melvin Clinton and Stuart Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Quitaque. Flora Izell Proctor was born on Dec. 4, 1913, in Argyle, Texas, to Roy and Annie Baker. She was the second oldest of 12 children. Moving from Roff, Okla., in 1926, the family relocated to Turkey for a chance at a better life. After settling in the Buffalo Flat area, Izell met and married Robert Proctor on Dec. 22, 1932. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage. Izell taught Sunday school at Hope Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Turkey. She was one of the founding members of Turkey Senior Citizens. Izell enjoyed all kinds of crafts, especially piecing quilts. Izell's life was lived in devotion to church, children, family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Izell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; three stepbrothers; one stepsister; one grandson; and one granddaughter. She is survived by six sons; one daughter; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
