Henry Mack Bowers LUBBOCK-Graveside services for Henry Mack Bowers, 78, of Midland and formerly of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in the City of Lubbock Cemetery with Phil Stroud officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Sanders Funeral Home. Henry Mack went to be with his Lord and his loving wife, Jo Ann, on Nov. 26, 2012. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Henry Mack was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Greenville, Texas, to Claude and Eva Bowers. He was proud to be a graduate of Lubbock High School in 1951. Mack married the love of his life, Jo Ann Guy, in 1954 in Portales, N.M. Throughout their marriage, Mack kept a daily journal recording their wonderful life together. Mack and his wife, Jo Ann, also worked together daily in the floral industry. Mack was a floral designer for 65 years with relationships with Alante, Texas Floral, Davis Floral and Lubbock Wholesale Flowers. He was a member of the Floral Hall of Fame, winning six floral conventions. He and Jo Ann also enjoyed operating a flea market on the weekends. He was a longtime member of Trinity Church. His wonderful wife, Jo Ann, preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 2011. Survivors include his two daughters, Cheri Dawn Williams of Midland and Lou Ann Hertel of Abilene; brother, Lawrence Bowers; sister, Ellen Crisp; five grandchildren, Candace Williams Hugill, Cresta Diane Knowles, Joe Ray Williams, Elizabeth Ann Duhaime and Casey Dewayne Hertel; and eight great-grandchildren. Mack loved his wife, his family and his life. He was an avid singer and guitar player. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his special dog, Solo.
