Johnny Juarez

Johnny Juarez, Jr. LUBBOCK- Rosary for Johnny Juarez, Jr., 62, of Lubbock will be today at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Deacon Joe Morin officiating. Cremation services will be under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel. Johnny passed away on Friday Aug. 30, 2013 in San Marcos, Texas. He was born on Feb. 24, 1951 in Rockdale, Texas to the late (2004) Juan Sr. and Jesusa Juarez. He married Susie Hernandez on Dec. 23, 1967 in Lubbock. Johnny joined the US Marine Corp in 1969 and served till 1982. During his service time he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and served in the Vietnam War serving with The 1st BN, 9th MAR, 3rd MAR division (FMF) and in Lubbock ASO Company A, 4th Motor Transport BN. He was currently an environmental specialist for the Veterans Administration Clinic in Lubbock. He was preceded in death by a brother, Freddy Juarez; a sister, Olivia Rodriguez; and a daughter, Conchita Dolores Juarez. Survivors include his wife, Susie Juarez of Lubbock; a son, John David and Sonia Juarez of Lubbock; two daughters, Eliza and Jay Guerrero and JoAnn and Nick Sandobal all of Lubbock; his mother, Jesusa Juarez of Lubbock; a brother, David and Ester Juarez of Virginia; four sisters, Alice Bejar of Lubbock, Mary and Baltazar Galvan of Denver City, Irene Gohr of Arizona, and Debbie Owen of Hobbs; eight grandchildren, Celestino Leija, Mario Leija, Freddy Juarez, Eric Juarez, Klarysa Juarez, Rico Juarez, John David Juarez II, and Jonathan David Juarez all of Lubbock; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Leija and Eric Juarez both of Lubbock.
