Loy L. Guerrero

Loy L. Guerrero IDALOU-Loy L. Guerrero of Idalou was called upon by our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the age of 68. He was born June 23, 1944, in Abernathy to Santos and Nicholasa (Longoria) Guerrero. Loy married Maria Eva Cervantez on Sept. 8, 1962, in Lubbock. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Loy was a truck driver and member of St. Philips Benizi Catholic Church, where he was a Cursillista. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Eva; one son, Lloyd Guerrero Jr. of Robertson, Texas; five daughters, JoAnn Olivarez, Becky Duran and Erika Cervantes, all of Idalou, and Sandra Espinoza and Cynthia Nerios, both of Lubbock; two brothers, Robert Guerrero and Ruben Mendoza; four sisters, Gloria Hernandez, Alice Lozoya, Irene Garza and Elvia Robledo; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Loy was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Gonzalez. The family will receive visitors today, Dec. 6, 2012, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church in Idalou with interment to follow in Idalou Cemetery.
