Marcenia Raborn

Marcenia Christine Raborn LUBBOCK- Marcenia Christine Raborn, 97, a long-time resident of Lubbock, died Sunday the 30th of December, 2012 at Tanglewood Village. Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, with the Rev. Jacob West officiating at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home 807 S. Columbia St. Stamford, Texas. Born May 9, 1915 in Rule, Texas to the late Marion T. and Maggie (Ferguson) Raborn, Marcenia graduated from Rule High School and attended Drauhn's Business School in Abilene. Prior to moving to Lubbock in May of 1943, she worked in Crosbyton as a cotton classer. She was employed for 34 years as the office manager of TNM&O Bus Line, from 1943 until her retirement on June 1, 1977. Marcenia resided at Tanglewood Village in Lubbock for the past year and a half. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Lubbock; member and past president of Alturas Club of Lubbock and a member of ABWA. She had a tender heart for dogs. Marcenia is survived by her guardian and caregiver, Nelda Jett of Lubbock, Texas and the wonderful staff of Tanglewood Village.
