Patricia Orr

Patricia Orr LUBBOCK-Patricia Orr was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Stockton, Kan., to Roy and Amy Mallum. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her three children on Oct. 6, 2011. Pat Orr is survived by three children, Lonnie Orr of Lubbock, Sara Orr of Denton, Texas, and Lori and Glenn Williams of Novato, Calif., and her six grandchildren: Calvin Brown, Colby Williams, Summer Brown, Chase Williams, Bodey Brown and Carson Williams. Pat attended the College of Emporia in Emporia, Kan., graduating in 1950 with a degree in home economics and a member of Kappa Alma Phi. She taught second grade for several years in Westmoreland, Kan., where she met and married her husband, Dr. Calvin Orr, in 1956. Newly married, they resided in Westmoreland, Kan., where their three children were born. In 1964, they relocated the family to Lubbock, where they remained until their deaths. Pat had many interests, including her job at Hobby Lobby, where she worked in the fabric department until her retirement in 2008. She was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her daughters and grandchildren. Pat loved traveling and spending time with her family. Pat experienced challenging health issues throughout her life and, in gratefulness for the outstanding care she received, it was her wish to donate her body to Texas Tech School of Medicine upon her death. The family invites you to join us in celebrating Pat Orr's life in a graveside memorial service on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 3 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.
