Philip Wampler LUBBOCK- Family and friends will gather today, December 4, 2012, to celebrate the life of Philip Wampler, 20, of Lubbock from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at LakeRidge United Methodist Church with burial following in the Becton Cemetery. Our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. Philip was born on February 11, 1992 to Carl and Susanne (Rogers) Wampler. He graduated from Frenship High School where he was in the National Honor Society and played in the school band percussion line. Philip was an Eagle Scout and a member of LakeRidge United Methodist Church. Presently, Philip was attending Texas Tech University majoring in Civil Engineering. He was the drummer for the band Stay Sane. He enjoyed playing disc golf, all kinds of music and was a fan of West Texas A&M football. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jan Wampler and Paul Ray Rogers. Survivors include his parents, Carl and Susanne of Lubbock; a brother, Aaron Wampler of Canyon; his grandmothers, Polly Wampler of Lubbock and Virginia Rogers of Plainview; aunt and uncle, Gayle and Blair Willson of Lubbock; uncle, Jackie Rogers of Plainview; and seven cousins.
