Ray Edward Barringer LAMESA-Funeral services for Ray Edward Barringer, 93, of Lamesa will be held Monday, May 5, 2014, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Bro. Daniel Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Vistation will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Ray passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in Lamesa. He was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Salisbury, N.C. to John David and Cora (Graham) Barringer. He married Maxine Peterson on Nov. 24, 1945, in Lamesa; they were married 68 years. Ray served in the United States Air Corps during WWII. He farmed in Dawson County for over 40 years. He looked forward to drinking coffee with his friends at McDonald's each day. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Barringer of Lamesa; children, Cheryl Beeks and husband Neil of Hermleigh, David Barringer and wife Polly of Houston, and Lisa Wright of Andrews; sisters, Nell Higgins and husband Harry of Concord, N.C., and Norma Jean Clements of Durham, N.C.; brothers, Earl Barringer of Concord, N.C., and Joe Barringer of Concord, N.C.; grandchildren, Alison Rios and husband Frankie, Brian Barringer, Cynthia Blackshear and husband Jason, John Wright and wife Haile, Keith Wright, Laura Bustamante and husband Eddie, and Sarah Snow; and ten great-grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Fannie Blackwelder; brothers, Ira Doc Barringer, and Herman Barringer; and grandson, Nelson Beeks.
